For my birthday Rick and I took the day off and took a family trip to a preview of the new California Academy of Sciences. Those of you who know me know that this is typically not my first choice for a fun birthday afternoon... but we had a great time! It was really cool and Jantzen and Rick can hardly wait to go back.

I even tried to feed Jantzen to a leopard in the tree. (Which he thought was pretty funny.)

Happy to be back in California, with my favorite toy.

Yes, it's a broom. We took him to the toy store and told him he could choose any toy. I offered trains, puzzles, instruments... and the kid wanted a broom. so odd. I swear, he has never seen me use one. Really. Ask Rick. He'll confirm.

These are my precious nephews, Sam and Jack. I hate that I only get to see them a couple times a year, but cherish every minute I get with them when we visit.

Family Reunion 2008

We put in a good effort during the Annual Egg Toss competition, but sadly came in approximately 10th place out of 15 or so pairs.

We had fun despite our poor showing.
